I have a deep calling to the animal kingdom and wild spaces, and have frequented the wilderness on various continents throughout my life. The great wilderness has always been our endless resource and teacher, and as a species disconnected to the life force and Mother Earth, I have found a great calling to bridge myself and my purpose with the stories of a crumbling connection to this Planet. Transference of Nature’s power through artists mediums and projects have been created since the dawn of our time, and my journey is nothing more or nothing less than a reflection of this. To observe, to feel, and to react in communion with life and stories, both hopeful and abundant, but also tragic and conflicting.
Exhibitions, campaigns, live-performances, quests for reason and liberation for myself through art and activism have steadied and hurtled my course into the shapes and tasks of today.
Motherhood stands alone as the single most ecliptic and transforming period of my life and one which continually challenges and re-defines the edges of my world as a whole. It is now within family life, that I re-define what it is to travel and explore the world through a new lens, while myself and husband band together and alchemise our skills for deep storytelling.
‘It comes in forms of land, people, creatures…. conversations with the world around me, spirit and mortal. The layers and dimensions in a universe of ultimate paradox’s and realities. A heavenly abundance of material, to which the ultimate challenge for me as an artist is what I leave out, not what I must include.’
This is how I paint now
Painting has now become a trusted tool. My form of expression. It is my language.
It is the point at which I can outwardly express a range of emotions, concepts and experiences, directly into the world. Two decades of open road travel and now family life has given me an insight into multi-cultural ways of living and existing on this planet, to which I feel more than ever, I can offer my own insights and lens of the paths travelled. Inspiration is everywhere. In the day to day, and in the vastness of great wilderness. The stories untold, and stories to re-tell are what drive me, and paint is my vehicle to do this.
